Write a literary critique in essay format of the novel The Catcher in the Rye. Your work should be approximately 750 – 1000 words in length and must make use of any and all essay writing techniques found in the course guide to essay writing. You are to employ only one primary critical approach or ‘lens’ as the basis for your thesis and subsequent analysis, and you must have a minimum of two arguments (body paragraphs) to support your thesis. Feel free to include a third body paragraph, but only if you feel it is a solid argument to use in defense of your thesis. Do not add a third argument just because you have been brainwashed by the famous 5-paragraph model! Proper essay format and persuasive arguments are the keys to a successful mark.
